This English version is a courtesy translation; the German original is the legally binding version. This website does not set cookies by default. What happens instead is explained here.
In short
This website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. Both set cookies and transmit data to Google. This only happens if you have clicked "Accept all" in the banner. If you click "Necessary only", nothing is loaded from Google and no cookie is set. On the homepage we also embed two maps from OpenStreetMap; these also only load after your consent, but they don't set a cookie when doing so.
You can change your decision at any time via the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser to recognise you on a later visit. Similar techniques include local storage or tracking pixels.
Necessary storage
Your cookie decision
So that we don't ask you again on every page visit, we remember your decision in your
browser's local storage under the name f2n-consent. Only the decision itself and
the time are stored, no identifier that could identify you personally. The entry expires after
six months, after which we ask again. This storage is required to fulfil a legal obligation and
does not require consent.
Cookies that require consent
Google Tag Manager
We load the two services below via Tag Manager. It doesn't set any cookies itself, but is only loaded after you give consent, transmitting your IP address to Google when it does.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 analyses how this website is used: which pages are visited, how long
visitors stay, and how they arrived. Among other things, this sets the cookies _ga
and _ga_<ID>, with a lifetime of up to two years. They contain a random
identifier that makes your device recognisable. The IP address is shortened by Google before
being stored.
Google Ads
Google Ads measures whether an ad led to a visit or an enquiry, and allows ads to be tailored
to your interests. Among other things, this sets the cookie _gcl_au as well as
cookies from the domains google.com and doubleclick.net, with lifetimes of up to 90 days and two
years respectively.
OpenStreetMap
On the homepage we show two maps: our data center location in the "Infrastructure" section and our own location in the "Let's talk" section. Neither loads automatically; they only load once you consent in the banner or specifically click "Load map". In both cases, your browser establishes a connection to OpenStreetMap, which transmits your IP address. No cookie is set in the process.
Provider: OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. An adequacy decision by the European Commission exists for the United Kingdom, confirming a level of data protection comparable to the EU.
Provider and data transfer
The provider of both services is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data is also transferred to Google LLC in the United States. An adequacy decision by the European Commission exists for the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. In addition, Google has agreed to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Despite these safeguards, access to the data by US authorities cannot be fully ruled out.
The legal basis for setting the cookies is § 25 (1) TDDG, and for the subsequent processing of your data, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR – in each case, your consent. It is voluntary; this website works unchanged without it.
Managing cookies in your browser
Independently of this website, you can set in your browser whether and which cookies may be stored, and delete cookies already stored. You'll find these settings in your browser's help section.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data stored about you, to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, to data portability, and a right to object. You can withdraw any consent you've given at any time with effect for the future. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht).
